If you’ve been away due to burnout, illness, or stress, returning to work can feel overwhelming. I help you rebuild confidence, set healthy boundaries, and re-enter work in a calm, sustainable way, while guiding you through how reintegration works in the Netherlands.

Sick leave in The Netherlands

When you’re sick for a longer period in the Netherlands, your employer has a legal responsibility to support your recovery and your return to work. With reintegration coaching, you get:

  • someone who explains the process without big words,
  • someone who stands next to you, not above you,
  • someone who helps you understand your rights,
  • and someone who helps you make decisions that protect your energy.

You get to take back control, step by step.

What we work on

✔ rebuilding confidence and self-trust
✔ learning your new boundaries (and communicating them calmly)
✔ creating structure and routines that don’t drain you
✔ preparing for conversations with HR or your manager
✔ planning a realistic, sustainable return that protects your health
✔ easing the fear of “going back too fast.”

My goal is simple: Help you return in a way that feels safe, balanced, and true to who you are now, not who you were before you got sick.

You do the work. Your employer covers the cost.

During the first 2 years of sick leave in the Netherlands, your employer is responsible for supporting your reintegration, including covering the cost of coaching.

That means you don’t pay for this program yourself.
It is fully reimbursed as part of your reintegration plan.

Coaching vs. Therapy 
What’s the difference?

Reintegration coaching is not therapy. Therapy helps you heal emotionally.
Coaching helps you move forward practically, with structure, clarity, and support.
Both can work beautifully together.

Coaching

  • Focuses on goals, actions, and future progress.
  • Helps you return to work with structure and clarity.
  • Solution-oriented: “What can we do next?”
  • Builds routines, confidence, and communication skills.
  • Geared towards healthy individuals looking to grow or reintegrate.
  • Suitable when you’re ready to move forward.

Therapy

  • Focuses on healing, emotional processing, and past experiences.
  • Helps you address emotional or psychological challenges.
  • Insight-oriented: “Why is this happening?”
  • Treats mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout diagnosis, etc.)
  • Geared towards individuals who need clinical intervention or emotional recovery.
  • Suitable when you need to stabilize before moving forward.
